I’ve recently received a few questions what are the best ways to save money in my opinion. One person even asked me to prepare article about it. I thought – why not! Some of them may be very obvious for you but some might be also completely fresh so let’s start!

13 easy ways to save money for anybody!

1. My most important way to save money is very limited spending on products and services. If I don’t need something, why should I buy it? I just don’t do it or choose cheaper substitute. You can also learn new things doing things like fixing your car by yourself. This can be very satisfying and rewarding at the same time.
2. I plan a lot and think twice before buying something. I don’t make purchases under emotions. I don’t follow trends or fashion. I don’t try to have more things than other people. You will always have less than somebody else on this huge world.
3. I just love promotions and deals! For example I rarely buy clothes without discounts. Also most of my clothes are from Primark which is very cost efficient. Cashback offers are also something I like a lot.
4. I try to avoid buying new things. I much prefer looking for used. Why should I buy new smartphone if I can find barely used 1-2 years old model in great condition and sometimes with warranty? New TV can cost hundreds of pounds while still quite decent one you can find on eBay for 50£. I also have a very nice 11 years old car which cost me 750 pounds! Learn to fix it and just calculate how much you can save money every year if new car costs at least 10 000£ and servicing it hundreds pounds every year.
5. I always change my bank account when bank offers good deal for switching. On average you can earn on average 50-100£ for every switch but sometimes it’s even more! Indeed, it affects a bit credit score but only short term and not that much! I’m currently with First Direct. 6. I never have personal loan and I won’t take it. Remember – stop yourself from buying things you don’t need!
7. I cook mostly at home. Eating out is expensive and better reserve it for special occasions like dating or holidays!
8. I very rarely throw out food. Like a mention about planning – think what you buy! Shop in Aldi or Lidl. They offer decent quality food for great prices. You can also finish shopping there in barely no time as they are quite small and don’t offer too wide offer of products. Small advice – if you want to buy less, never go shopping hungry. 🙂
9. If I’ve already bought something but I don’t need it anymore I just go to eBay and sell it! You will save money and space at home doing the same thing.
10. Only subscription I have is a phone one. I pay 10 pounds every month for it in Three. Read why Three subscription might be a good idea for you too. Or follow this link straight to their offer and claim 25£ Amazon voucher!
11. I barely spend any money on alcohol. I don’t smoke.
12. I don’t buy courses or books. Most courses are useless or made just to make money on you. If it comes to books, why not go to library?
13. I try to invest all money I earn. Remember that money on your bank account slowly lose their value because of inflation. However, invest wisely and safely. I lost money on speculation. Don’t forget that speculating doesn’t mean investing.
