Rent a car in a good way
I never travel alone. I also rarely decide on public communication which in this situation is by far the most advantageous price. To rent a car is usually more expensive but with the division of costs into two/three/four people that’s no longer the case. Driving a car incredibly speeds up the tour and allows you to see MUCH more. I usually go to a given place/country with the intention of appearing there only once. World is too big. That’s why I try to get the most out of the trip.

Tips to successfully rent a car:
- Always rent a car at the airport and try to return it in the same place. If you leave it on another airport, a large fee will be charged. Mostly, it’s tens of pounds. Calculate what is more profitable for you. Maybe it is worth doing a “circle” around the visited country and coming back. From my experience, this is how you can plan and squeeze from travel even more.
- When renting a car in one country, and giving back in the other (yes, it is possible in many rental companies) you will often pay twice as much (insurance issues). I’m not saying it’s bad but be aware of this.
- I can’t say anything about hitchhiking. I have not tried it that’s not really for me, although it is supposedly an interesting experience. However, as I wrote, I am in a hurry in every journey and that’s not the fastest way of travelling.
- Be sure to buy a full insurance because you may pay “excess fee”. It means that if somebody steals your car or you will have an accident, from account will disappear several hundred to even several thousand euros. - You can easily book a car many months before. You will pay only 10% of the total price for booking the car and you will have a good price guaranteed. Although I met with the situation that also a few days before renting prices were not much higher but advance booking is always a good idea.
