I heard about Nutmeg a few months ago and decided to invest some money with their help to write for you a quick review. Nutmeg – like every investment management service – gives you a chance to invest up to 20 000£/annually and that investment is tax-free. However, Nutmeg let you invest in a very simple way. All you need to do is to choose your investment style and decide what is your risk tolerance. There are 3 investment styles and 5 risk grades.

If you look below at the screenshot showing part of Nutmeg website, you will see that Fixed allocation is for more experienced investors and Fully managed is better if you are novice. Nevertheless please keep on mind that Nutmeg will charge you for Fully managed investment style more as it’s proactively managed by experts.

If it comes to risk levels, there are 5 grades: (from left – equities, bonds, other) [%]

1. Cautious – 17, 82, 1
2. Steady – 35, 65, 0
3. Balanced – 57, 43, 0
4. Growth – 80, 20, 0
5. Adventurous – 99, 0, 1

As you probably know equities are much more volatile than bonds or cash investments. At the same time they historically deliver much better return of profits. However, when stocks markets collapse then you may suffer heavy financial losses. I will explain more in other article if this is not something you are familiar with.

Nutmeg refer a friend program
